At Burstow, we believe that true learning happens when children are immersed in real-life experiences that spark their curiosity. By providing contexts that engage and motivate learners, we encourage them to question, investigate, and hypothesise, deepening their understanding of the world around them. Our trips and visits, which take place each half term, are closely linked to the class topics, offering children opportunities to explore in meaningful ways. These experiences may include trips to museums, historical sites, farms, or enriching activities within school, such as theatre performances, visiting speakers, or animal encounters.
As part of our commitment to pupils' Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural development, we also offer exciting residential trips for Year 3 and Year 6. These trips are designed to help children build team-building skills, develop resilience, and boost their confidence through problem-solving and risk-taking. Year 3 students visit High Ashurst Outdoor Learning Centre near Box Hill for a two-day adventure, while Year 6 pupils head to Norfolk Lakes for a five-day experience.
At Burstow, we’re dedicated to helping children explore the world with curiosity and confidence, discovering new ideas and building lasting memories along the way.
