Children, if you have a worry or a concern, remember to speak to any member of staff and/or trusted adult, use the worry box in the discovery room. Also, remember you can also call Childline on 0800 1111 – they will be able to offer advice and support whatever your worry.
Adults, if you think that a child is in immediate danger, you should call 999.
During term time, if you have a concern about a child in school, please contact the school office on 01342 842010 and ask to speak to a Designated Safeguarding Lead or email: dsl@burstow.surrey.sc.uk.
We ask that parents and carers understand that all child protection actions undertaken by the school are guided by what is considered to be the best interests of the child, however difficult this may be for all adults concerned. It is the duty of all adults to report and log incidents which may affect the safeguarding of our children.
At Burstow Primary School, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels protected, valued and able to thrive.
Our staff are highly trained and vigilant in keeping children safe, and we work closely with families and external agencies to ensure the best possible support for our pupils.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we believe strong partnerships between home and school are key to promoting children’s wellbeing.
This page provides information about our safeguarding procedures, key contacts, and how we support the safety and welfare of all children in our care.
