An idea of some creative games to learn the sounds are:

  • Splatting the sound and saying it
  • Treasure hunts
  • Chalking the sounds on a hopscotch
  • Chalking the sounds and painting over them to rub them off with water
  • Musical pass the sounds.

Please encourage your child to use these fun sound games at home and it will support them in making excellent progress with their reading and writing.

We would also love the children to find opportunities to practise reading and writing their names. They are making really good progress with this skill and it is important they can find real purposes and reasons to practise . EG. writing their names on birthday cards, invitations, pictures etc.
